Meldrum Makers
Meldrum Makables is a lunchtime club that runs every Tuesday and offers young people the chance to develop their practical skills and hand-eye coordination through hands-on crafting projects. With a strong focus on sustainability and creativity, this year's projects have included upcycling whisky barrel staves into unique candle holders, charcuterie boards, and incense holders. Young people have also created animal sculptures by heat-treating and bending old metal forks, and are currently learning the art of woodturning by crafting pens from reclaimed oak.
Meldrum Makables is all about discovering the satisfaction and enjoyment of making something by hand. Young people are also welcome to work on their own personal projects or use the time to complete any unfinished practical work from class.
