ABOUT US

The Science faculty is one of the largest in the school. We have 9 purpose built labs and as we are a relatively new school we are lucky to have a good range of equipment. Each lab has a smart board and we also have a science laptop bus.

Throughout the year we offer various Curriculum enrichment:

• STEM Ambassador visits including links to various engineering companies

• Do you want to be a Doctor? When we have medical students in school.

• Science Club, includes Crest awar

• John Muir Award for all S1

• British Science Association:

  • British Science Week

  • Annual competitions

• Techfest week talks including (at varying times throughout the year)

  • Cosmic Dome (astronomy/physics)

  • Physics – Antarctica and Beyond (physics/biology)

• Aberdeen University: (at varying times throughout the year)

  • Practical workshops

  • Lectures

  • Careers advice

• Various visits are arranged including Mr Bug, Forestry Commission, a local Bee keeper, as well as visits to the Distillery and other local businesses.
