Term 2 Tracking Reports for S2 and S3
S1, S2 and S3 English Reports – Term 2 (Writing)
For the purposes of reporting, term 2 comments in English relate to performance in Writing – not the overall level in English.
The grading system works as follows:
The number denotes the level that the pupil is working within.
Their performance is indicated by the following letters:
X - All / Almost all of the Success Criteria for the writing piece met.
O - The majority of / at least half of the Success Criteria for the writing piece met.
R – Some / less than half of the Success Criteria for the writing piece met.
A – The pupil is continuing to work within their current level with individual targets to address.
Homework
S1 and S2 Homework for English is 20 minutes per day of participation in the Accelerated Reader programme to help further increase their reading age and ability to access the wider curriculum.
All young people should have an Accelerated Reader book from the school library, and be completing quizzes on these once completed.
Parents and carers can log in to Home Connect – your young person should be able to give you their log-in name for this.

S3 Media – Term 2 (Analysis)
In term 1 young people are developing their understanding of key aspects of Media through the study of the film ‘Guardians of the Galaxy.’
For the purposes of reporting, term 1 comments in Media relate to performance in one aspect of Media – Analysing Media Content – not the overall level.
The grading system works as follows.
The number denotes the level of the content being studied.
Their performance is indicated by the following letters:
Exceeding Expectations: Where a pupil has understood almost all of the key aspects of the text.
On Target: Where a pupil has understood the majority of the key aspects of the text.
Requires Support: Where a pupil has not shown understanding of the key aspects and requires occasional support to do so.
Appropriate Progress: Where a pupil has not shown understanding of the key aspects and requires regular support to do so.
